I am sure this has been answered many times, but I could benefit from
hearing one more time. Please read the following and help if you can:

Our son (my step-son) recently committed suicide. He was a charming
young man that everyone liked (peers and older people both). He was
struggling with Christianity and accepting Christ as his savior. We all
prayed for him to come to Christ (Me, his mother, his sister, many
others) and for his safety (he was preparing to enter the military).

He broke up with a girl, was hurt badly, and then took his own life.
Reading his notes, we have very good reason to believe he accepted
Christ in his last few hours but still committed suicide.

We are all struggling with the fact that he had so many people praying
for him that God did not intervene in some way. We all have continued
to pray but are still confused (his mother more than anyone else but we
all have the same thoughts). She prays prayers of thanks (for allowing
him to come to Christ, for the abundance that he has give us) but
refuses to ask for anything or to pray for anyone......figuring that if
it is God's Will that he die (and he did) why pray for people? We have
tried to explain that God gave us free will and won't interfere with it,
but it doesn't seem to help at all. I am sure that her pain (she was
particularly close to him) plays a large part in this and I can't help
but believe that God understands this and has a plan for her....but
again it doesn't really console any of us.

Anybody who can give any thoughts that might provide some peace for us
and to encourage us to continue prayer in daily life, it would be
appreciated.

Thanks....Ray

Dear Ray,
I'm so sorry to hear of your loss.
But it was God's gain! Your son is in heaven now, with Jesus!
God answered your and your wife's and friend's prayers!
And God allowed your son to kill himself to be with Him.
It's SO hard for a mother to lose her son! Just pray for her and God
will soothe her soul. Love her. Treat her with respect.God will work
it all out for everyone's best in His time, in His way.
